It was the seventh straight time Florida State has defeated Miami. Miami looked destined to tie the game after quarterback Brad Kaaya hit wide receiver Stacy Coley for a second touchdown connection to bring the Hurricanes within one before kicker Michael Badgley, who had hit 72 straight extra points, saw his 73rd attempt redirected wide left.
