Blue Bottle is one of the hottest coffee chains in Silicon Valley. It should come as no surprise that founder James Freeman and CEO Bryan Meehan know the best gadgets for brewing the perfect pour-over coffee at home. Meehan's pick is the Chemex, a simple, elegant machine for making pour-over coffee for a crowd. It retails for about $40. Invented in 1941, the Chemex is about as low-tech as coffee-makers get.
