Workplace by Facebook, or a Party in the Office

Today, Facebook publicly launches Workplace, a business product modelled after Facebook’s own internal corporate network. Instead of a hodgepodge of friends, cousins, exes, acquaintances, and friends of acquaintances, one’s social network will be composed of co-workers. Users of the site won’t be required to have their own personal Facebook page, but Workplace by Facebook—which includes a News Feed with posts ranked according to relevance, Groups, and Messenger—will be familiar to those who do.
