Startup creates plastic from organic waste

SAN FRANCISCO — Why pay someone to take out your trash when waste could be making your business money? That’s the pitch for Richmond’s Full Cycle Bioplastics, which employs naturally grown bacteria to turn organic waste from a variety of sources into plant-based plastic. In addition to growing the market for biodegradable plastic cutlery or take-out containers, Full Cycle CEO Andrew Falcon sees the company at the center of a much bigger conversation about sustainable materials.
