Maker of portable concussion test seeks FDA approval, new funding

BOSTON — A health care technology company with Massachusetts roots is hoping to begin clinical trials by early next year on a portable test that can diagnose concussions, and is seeking $15 million in funding to build a new headquarters. The test, known as Tbit and manufactured by BioDirection, is conducted by an 8-by-11-inch desktop machine with disposable cartridges that require only a drop of blood.
