About 6,000 American service men and women preparing for long-anticipated, hugely symbolic battle for Mosul
Rachel Maddow reports on additional U.S. service men and women being sent to Iraq in anticipation of an operation to take the Iraqi city Of Mosul from ISIS.
The deployment, to aid Iraqis in the looming battle to take back Mosul from the Islamic State, will bring the number of American troops in Iraq to 5,000.
Militants struck police stations and a power station in the northern city. In Mosul, the U.N. says it is concerned ISIS may be using civilians as human shields as Iraqi forces advance.
