Lots of people with chronic pain are turning to 'alternative' medicine

A lot of people are in pain. According to a government report released Wednesday, 54.5% of US adults live with a "musculoskeletal" pain disorder such a arthritis, lower back pain, sciatica, or other problems of the joints and muscles of the body. But that's not really new information. Here's what is new though: People with these disorders use alternative medicine — treatments doctors typically do not prescribe, often for lack of scientific grounding — far more than the general population.
