Apple: Credit Suisse Opines Note 7 Gains Will Be Permanent

Apple (AAPL) shares are up 68 cents, or 0.6%, at $117, as Samsung Electronics’s (005930KS) disaster with its “Note 7” smartphone deepened overnight. Samsung late yesterday, Seoul time, cut its Q3 profit outlook, after it said it would permanently discontinue the Note 7 after continued incidents of the device bursting into flames, even units Samsung offered as replacements.
