NFL panic index, Week 6: The Broncos’ defense can’t always save them

There’s also bad news for the Bears: their quarterback situation is basically the same as the 2016 presidential election. The Denver Broncos lost their first game of the season to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. For the first time since Dec. 20 of last year, the Broncos’ stingy defense couldn’t cover up for a lackluster effort from the offense. Rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch, filling in for an injured Trevor Siemian, was under constant pressure from a Falcons pass rush that hasn’t been able to generate much pressure at all so far this season.
