Private Equity Asset Managers Look Strong Going Into Q3 Earnings

Private equity-based asset managers performed much better in the third quarter, up an average of 9.1%, compared to 3.5% for the S&P 500. Oppenheimer’s Chris Kotowski and his team write that it’s hard to attribute this good performance to investors waking up to the fact that these companies have “arguably the best business model in financial services,” although he believes that to be the case.
