The hurricane hit Haiti on October 4, flattening buildings and sending trees crashing into homes. “People came to lift the rubble, and then we saw my wife, who had died in the same spot,” driver Jean-Pierre Jean-Donald told Reuters as his young daughter cried “Mommy” at his side.
