3D Systems, Stratasys Hit New Lows, Says Piper

Piper Jaffray’s Troy Jensen on Thursday offered up a rather dismal outlook for the 3-D printing market, noting that his survey of resellers about trends in Q3 showed a “significant” number of resellers of printers “below plan” in printer sales. "We believe the system shortfall during Q3 continued to be driven by the same factors affecting demand in prior quarters,” writes Jensen, "such as sustained weakness in the prototyping industry, increased competition, as well as macro headwinds.
