Bangladesh hangs Islamist extremist over 2005 blast: police

Bangladesh executed a leader of a banned Islamic extremist group Sunday for his role in a 2005 blast that killed two judges, police in the southern city of Khulna said. "Asadul Islam, alias Arif, was hanged to death at 10:30 pm (1630 GMT) in Khulna jail," Khulna Police Commissioner Nibhas Chandra Majhi told AFP.
