Seattle's kingmakers: Madrona Venture Group invests money — and time — to grow region's tech companies

SEATTLE — Most of the Seattle area’s biggest technology deals in the past year have one thing in common – an investment from Madrona Venture Group. Madrona has in the past few months had a spate of successes, including Apptio’s $96 million initial public offering in September, Apple’s $200 million acquisition of Seattle startup Turi in August and Impinj’s $67.2 million IPO in July.
