Frankfurt’s captain Russ targets 2017 return after cancer

Berlin (AFP) – Eintracht Frankfurt’s captain Marco Russ is hoping to get the green light from doctors on Wednesday to resume training after battling testicular cancer and hopes to play again in 2017. The 31-year-old defender says his goal is to rejoin his Bundesliga team-mates for their winter training camp in Abu Dhabi in early January and is keeping his fingers crossed for good news on Wednesday.
