Leaders meet in Berlin for Ukraine peace talks

Angela Merkel to discuss implementation of 2015 Minsk peace deal with Putin, Poroshenko and Hollande Leaders from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France will meet in Berlin to discuss efforts towards peace in eastern Ukraine, the office of the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, has said. In a statement, the German government said Merkel invited the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, and the French president, François Hollande, to “assess the implementation of the Minsk [peace] agreements since the last meeting and discuss further steps”.
