How Do We Re-Establish an Artistic Tradition?

Looking at the 13th Century English Gothic School of St Albans as a Model for the Roman Rite Today When I have had discussions about reestablishment of beautiful sacred art in the Roman Catholic Church (as opposed to in the Eastern churches), it usually comes down to picking a style from the past, and then using that as a starting point from which a style for today emerges.
