NHS head disputes Theresa May claims over health funding

The NHS is getting £2bn less than the government promised, chief executive of the health service Simon Stevens tells MPs The head of the NHS in England has rejected Theresa May’s claim that the health service has been given more funding than it requested to meet rising demand for care. Simon Stevens told MPs that the NHS would receive an additional £8bn between now and 2020-21, not the “£10bn extra” the prime minister said.
