DENVER — There's something about traditional haunted houses — they can be gruesome and gory, creepy and lifelike, and have costumed actors jumping out around every corner— but no matter how terrifying they get, there's always that knowledge that the experience isn't real. But that notion is warped when it come to virtual reality (VR), which uses computers to generate 3D images that immerse the person into an environment that simulate sights and sounds — and sometimes touch.
