Donald Trump’s State Department Is Acknowledging the Virtual Impotence of His Muslim Ban

In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this week, Donald Trump’s State Department sent a cable to the United States’ diplomatic posts explaining how officials should implement the president’s Muslim travel ban. The administration’s new guidance pushes the court-sanctioned implementation to be as restrictive as possible. It was also issued in secret, which means the administration is doing its damnedest to prevent the legal challenges that will surely follow.
