Thousands of people gathered for a candlelight vigil at UVA — see the moving photos

In a demonstration against hate and racism, University of Virginia students held a vigil Wednesday night, retracing the steps white supremacists marched nearly a week ago, according to a news release from the school. UVA students and faculty were joined by members of the Charlottesville, Virginia community in a powerful display of solidarity in the face of violence that resulted in three deaths and dozens of injuries.
