Film Club: Logan Lucky is a casual comeback for Steven Soderbergh

Whatever pretense of retirement Steven Soderbergh has been maintaining these past few years finally, officially collapses with Logan Lucky, his first cinematic directorial effort since 2013’s Side Effects. On this episode of Film Club, staff critics A.A. Dowd and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky discuss why it’s great to have this ambassador of cool back (even if he never really left), while also acknowledging that the movie—a Southern heist comedy starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and a cast-against-type Daniel Craig—is more breezy fun than triumphant return.
