Santa Rosa firefighters rescue kitten stuck in car engine

A black kitten lodged in a car engine Saturday was freed by Santa Rosa firefighters, department officials said. Someone initially heard meowing sounds around 10:30 a.m. but couldn’t figure out where they were coming from, said Paul Lowenthal, a spokesman for the Fire Department. The caller eventually figured it out and people at the scene tracked down the car’s owner, who gave the OK to cut up his engine box, Lowenthal said.
