Mother Orange Tree in Oroville, California

The oldest orange tree in California has survived the Gold Rush, floods, and freezes, and is going strong at the storied age of 161. The Mediterranean Sweet Orange's children can be found in local orchards and on street corners all around the city of Oroville. The citrus sapling was born in Mazaltan, Mexico and traveled north to Sacramento inside a tub at the age of two or three.
