It started with an interest in taking apart snow globes as a child. by Amber Cortes Steve Korn What does an antiquarian horologist do? It's a cross-disciplinary trade. I mostly work with antique clock or watch-based objects that perform specific functions. Anything from making a facsimile of a living thing, called an automaton, to a musical box. Or even small watches that have music components or automata on the dial—basically I specialize in complicated antique mechanical objects.
