Despite losing his eyesight, he made it onto the field for the Trojans in an actual game. That wasn’t even the beginning of the tale, though. USC long snapper Jake Olson inspired the sports world during the Trojans’ 2017 opener against Western Michigan. Olson, who was born with retinoblastoma (a cancer of the retina) and had to have both of his eyes surgically removed by the age of 12, made his first career appearance when he made the snap for USC’s final extra point of the game.
