Irma, Now A Tropical Storm, Churns Through Florida

Hurricane Irma made its way to the Tampa Bay area late last night and is now crawling up Florida's spine, slinging brutal winds and rain across the state. By the time Irma hit the mainland it had weakened to a Category 2 hurricane which, while still destructive, was far less powerful than the storm that wreaked havoc across the Caribbean last week. Irma has since been downgraded to a tropical storm, and officials say it will continue to weaken as it makes its way inland, though 70 m.
