Most people try to live on either the light or dark side of life, striving to do mostly good or the most harm as they live in a morally black and white world. They are stuck in a role, unable to seize all the opportunities life throws their way, which is just fine by those who live a morally loose life because it gives them more chances to come up. Need to make some cash on Craigslist? Lowball the seller anonymously then buy low, it's only a slightly awful thing to do, not full blown evil so you won't go full blown dark side.
