Officials brought tick to press conference to warn about tick-borne diseases, but it escaped

Officials from Japan's Miyazaki Prefectural Government brought a live tick for a photo opp at a press conference about the dangers of thrombocytopenia syndrome, a tick-born disease that's recently infected some citizens there. Problem is, the tick escaped when someone tried picking it up with tweezers. (more…)
