Even if you find anything valuable you're legally obliged to report it to the coroner, wait to see if anyone claims it, then even if they don't you're forced to auction it to a museum because you're not allowed to keep it and then whoever owns the land gets half the cash. You basically end up with half its worth and feeling shafted and you did all the work.
