NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced today that the league will consider an expansion application from Seattle, bringing the city one step closer to landing a professional hockey team, according to reports.
Bettman's announcement comes days after the City Council approved an agreement with Los Angeles-based Oak View Group to redevelop KeyArena into a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment complex.
