It looks like China is about to test a futuristic railgun as the US Navy puts the brakes on its $500 million program

A Chinese ship has been spotted with a large gun on its bow that may be a rail gun. If it is a railgun it will be the first time such a weapon has been successfully installed on a ship. The US is scaling back its rail gun program while China is focusing on developing electromagnetic technology for its military. Photos have been circulating on social media that show a Chinese ship with what could be a prototype railgun on its bow.
