Western Kentucky keeps pace in C-USA, beats FAU 75-63

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Taveion Hollingsworth scored 20 points and Western Kentucky held onto a share of second place in the Conference USA standings with a 75-63 win over Florida Atlantic on Thursday night. The Hilltoppers entered the game tied with Old Dominion and trailing Middle Tennessee. All three teams won Thursday. Florida Atlantic trailed at the half, 35-34, but hit back-to-back jumpers to start the second half to take a 38-35 lead and the Owls didn't surrender the lead for good until Lamonte Bearden put Western Kentucky in front with a free throw and Justin Johnson followed it with back-to-back jumpers for a 51-46 lead.
